This
delightful orangery was designed and built as a dining room adjacent to
the kitchen in this Cambridgeshire town house. Our client's own choice
of coloured glass within traditional leaded panels allowed them to
complement the existing glazing in other parts of their
home.
The
meticulous construction of our orangery designs resulted in a unique
style and period authenticity. This classically proportioned orangery,
with elegant windows and fan gabled lantern provides a totally
individual addition to this turn-of-the-century London
property.
The
brief was to create a sitting area off the kitchen, with a
piece of modern art being the centre piece. Large folding doors were
introduced allowing the customer to enjoy his Chelsea award-winning
garden design during the summer months. The light green
joinery
complements the natural Cotswold stone of the house and the
introduction of limestone flooring with under floor heating has meant
that the orangery and kitchen can be connected and remain cosy whatever the weather.
This orangery was designed to connect to the kitchen and provide a new
dining and sitting area in order to enjoy views of the box hedged
kitchen gardens. The delicate Georgian bars of the Orangery match the
properties of the main house. The finished look with traditional dark
flagged stone floors, wicker furniture, and upholstery in soft white fabric
create a stunning effect.
The
customer wanted to create a large sized room that could be used for
relaxing and also dining. With the removal of a high hedge the views of
the substantial gardens can now be enjoyed. An awkward existing rear
elevation and a large floor area meant the obvious choice of building
was an orangery with an adequate area of flat roof to accommodate down
lighters. With the building being painted in a light historic green it
now blends perfectly with the garden and the reclaimed brick used for the house.
The challenge for a proposed conservatory in Gloucestershire was to design and create a conservatory overlooking substantial gardens and of large enough proportions to give our clients
the ability to host their growing family for celebratory events,
whilst also being able to utilise the new area for everyday living. In gaining the appropriate
planning permission and listed building consents we needed for the new conservatory, we also had to achieve
access to the main house, to a walled patio area and to the
grounds.
With the addition of a small
traditional conservatory we were able to transform a restricted
and poorly lit galley kitchen area into a spacious and light
room, allowing our clients to enjoy their garden whilst cooking,
dining and relaxing. Our delighted clients are now able to fully
enjoy the potential of their lovely home.
Our client asked us to build
her a conservatory for the enjoyment of her garden and her watercolour
painting. This spacious design also allows for dining
and relaxing. Most importantly, our client can enjoy her garden
and painting from the comfort of her new conservatory throughout
the year.
This fine listed building in Oxfordshire offered
the opportunity for us to create a garden room purely for our
clients to relax, enjoy the gardens to this fine property, and
to host social evenings all the year round. It was imperative
that the proportions and styling of the main house were accurately
reflected in the new conservatory. After several revisions to our plans,
we achieved a result exactly to the requirements of our clients
and suited to those of the planners.
A more contemporary property
in Kent represented quite a challenge in ensuring that the new conservatory
adjoined the existing roof without affecting the remaining lines
of the rear elevation. This additional room commissioned to
bring a lovely garden into the house is used for relaxing and
informal socialising. It also benefits from styling and colours
designed to achieve the important blend with the garden.
A commission to produce a relaxing conservatory/garden room for another contemporary residence. The Gothic style
windows and positioning of the doors are complemented by the
patio design undertaken by our building team as part of the
project.
Opening off the basement of this
Greenwich town house, our clients use their conservatory for
relaxing and entertaining. This design included a specially
commissioned fitted dresser with built-in dishwasher and fridge,
to avoid the continuous trek two floors up to the kitchen whilst
entertaining guests.
