Orangeries now represent a growing number of the solutions created for our clients - a more substantial building incorporating flat roof areas with one or more inset lanterns. This type of structure can include as much or as little solid wall as the client desires.
During the last few years we have developed the expertise to incorporate reliable flat roof materials into our orangery designs, thus creating rooms with often a more practical everyday use when integrated with the existing accommodation.
An orangery can sometimes be the only solution when the aspect of the proposed site might preclude a more conventional conservatory. Even in our climate too much sunlight can be the curse of the most beautiful glasshouse.
Case Study
The brief was to create a sitting area off
the kitchen with a piece of modern art being the centre piece. Large folding doors were
introduced, allowing the customer to enjoy his Chelsea award-winning
garden design during the summer months. The light green

complements the natural Cotswold stone of the house and the
introduction of limestone flooring with under floor heating has meant
that the orangery and kitchen can be connected and remain cosy whatever the weather.
